This was angrily cynical pulp, biting the hand feeding it by taking pot shots at Hollywood and making no excuses for its premise as it gleefully cut between Terry the serial killer and Professor Creepy (I guess the Dollhouse brought out a diffusion line).

I really like this point. It sums up something I hadn't quite managed to grasp until now, where I'm wary of the comments saying Dollhouse is a 'clever' show but at the same time thinking there's some quality that marks it out - even if Dollhouse isn't a clever show, it's an angry show. And that's interesting.
