Remember in one of the first episodes or the mini series when Tigh gives an order to shut down part of the burning Galactica, which results in the death of 84 troops and the Chief bad mouths Tigh to Adama. And Adama shuts the Chief right down by telling him, Tigh made a difficult decision and he would have done the same.
At that point in the series, I didn't believe that to be true. I thought Adama was covering for Tigh. But after Heroes, you realize just how true it is; as well as the fact that the opposite is going on. Adama tells Tigh he has to learn how to make those decision in command - we learn afterwards that Adama has made such a difficult decision in Heroes, and in fact he is encouraging Tigh to make such hard decisions too, as is necessary in top command positions.
Anyway, I find this interesting because it fairly well reverses what I originally thought about the two characters early on - that Tigh was less careful than he might have been, etc.
