Onwards and upwards

I finally finished remastering my TSCC vid Nobody Loves You. You can download the new shiny by right clicking here or streaming (YouTube allowing):

I still really miss the show and rewatching the vid only makes it more so but there’s some potential good news on that front. Josh Friedman (show runner for TSCC) has written a pilot, which Fox have picked up with a decision to be made on it in May 2011. Originally he was going to produce, he may still be show running but now it has Spielberg and some guys who produced the New Star trek Movie and Fringe as executive producers whatever that means. It’s based on a comic book (sorry, graphic novel) series called Locke and Key about a family (the eponymous Locke’s) moving back to their ancestral spooky mansion in the aftermath of the father’s murder and horrible wackiness ensuing. I haven’t read the books, they say the art is interesting, but they seem to focus on the 6 year old boy, his teenage brother and occasionally their sister Kinsey while the mother hangs around in the background in a haze alcohol-fuelled grief. But that the book. When Friedman did Terminator it was supposed to be all about John but he brought back the Sarah of it and added Cameron and Weaver and Ellison and that Derek guy. And the first character they’ve cast is the mother, Nina - Miranda Otto (Eowyn) and then the daughter, Kinsey ( Sarah Bolger). It could be good. Or never happen. Whatever. Happy New Year!

Oh!!! I missed the original version of this, so I'm so glad you remastered it and reposted; I'm not sure I'd have found it otherwise. I'm such an Ellison fan, so I lovelovelove what you've done with him here, and I'm completely fascinated to see Ellison's story told here with a near-complete absence of Sarah. I tend to think of her as so present for him, even when she's not, but this really highlights how many pieces of the story James sees that have little to do with Sarah, that she doesn't know about (which is part of the reason I always want them to just talk to each other, dammit, even though I adore the way they don't in their few scenes together; but what I wouldn't give for a season 3 in which they're more completely in each other's spheres--but that's a tangent).

Back to the point: this!!! Ellison and Weaver!!! Cromartie and John Henry!!! And I admit when I realized what song you were using I was a little worried that vidding Weaver to Garbage would be too self-aware or something, but instead it's an inspired choice. Love!!!

Here via [personal profile] pellucid - awesome, awesome vid for two of my favorite characters. Especially love your use of the bodies in the pool, the religious iconography, the gravestones, and the climax at the end. <3 God, I miss this show! It was cancelled too soon.

(Also, this may sound stupid, but... you know in the finale when the eel goes liquid-metal and reattaches itself into Catherine Weaver's leg? Yeah, I never GOT that moment until I saw this vid. I literally did not understand what happened in that scene, and then I saw this vid and went OH THAT WAS THE EEL?! and it clicked. So thank you!)

Sent here via [personal profile] pellucid too and I'm more than a little in love and *awe* at all of it really, but especially the religious iconography to Chromatie's death and John Henry's resurrection with the graves and the words from 2:35-2:49 or so, Ellison to the Terminator at 3:11, and the glass breaking on Weaver's face. Gorgeous and creepy. So many things I love in this vid, and so much I miss about this show. Plus, ELLISON AND WEAVER. IN A VID. It had me at hello. :)

I still love this a lot! The coloring is gorgeous and the pacing is flawless. (Guh, don't you want an actual TSCC/Wizard of Oz mashup somehow? Somebody should get on that).

Hmm cautiously interested by the potential new show, with many provisos and particular venom for Fox, assuming it goes anywhere!
