Vid recs and a confession

I thought I’d make a top five list of non-Spike vids I’ve downloaded. Because looking through my hard drive, most of the vids on it do seem to involve Spike, which would make it too difficult to choose five. He may not be my absolute favourite character but he’s very, very pretty.

Superstar by here’s luck. The queen, the king, the empress of all Faith vids. Let all other Faith vids bow down before it.

BtVS Abridged by Rowena. This is my son’s favourite. I think he prefers it to the series. It’s quicker.

YMCA by mrmonkeybottoms. The Village People, Kennedy, the Summer’s living room. What’s not to love?

Killer by vyra. I seem to have a weakness for parallel story vids. If you weren’t disturbed by Willow before, you will be after this.

Coin Operated Boy Awww, Riley! Actually there seems to be quite a lot of Spike in this one. And Angel. Pretty, pretty, pretty.



And please imagine that this part is in a very very small font and don’t read it but I did something bad. Or stupid. Or embarrassing. Or all of the above. I made a Parker vid. To Another Girl, Another Planet by The Only Ones. Because it’s so his song.

Well it’s really a Parker/Buffy/Angelus vid if that makes it sound any better. And if anyone would be prepared to look at it and tell me to get off the crack I’d be eternally grateful.

ETA I've reworked the Parker vid. A lot. It's not worse.

I really love the sdwolfpup and Rowena's vids. The latter especially is just an amazing edit job. I'll have to check out the other ones.

I did just watch your AGAP video. I think you had some good ideas for it. The mirroring between Parker and Angelus was oddly close at times. I think maybe interspersing those clips earlier on might have been better simply because the vid seems to take a bit of a turn as it moves farther along and it might have held together a bit better had those ties been stressed earlier. One thing I thought was kind of interesting to note was what a lot of physical contact she had with Parker considering they knew eachother such a short time. By comparison she had less with Angel given their 3 season relationship. Something might be made of that, too. The holding back/the giving in. Just an idea :>

I love YMCA and Killer. YMCA being the vid that made me appreciate season 7 (and the SITs) after the summer of being disgruntled. Thanks for the point to Coin-Operated Boy. I love Riley (me and like 5 other people) and that was awesome.

I looked at your vid. I liked a lot of what you did with it. You mentioned wanting to make this song into a Parker Vid. I really like the vid, and I like the song for Parker. I agree with yourlibrarian that contrasting Angel and Parker was a great idea.

For me the beginning seemed a bit slow. You let some clips run on for much longer than what seems to fit with the music. However, because I'm not a vidder, I don't really know what to say to make it better.

Here’s luck’s site has some wonderful links as well as her other vids. Vyra’s site has possibly the definitive Spike vid, Schism. And thank you both very much for the comments. I had no real idea what I was doing with the vid except the idea had lodged in my brain and I’d always liked the song for the Cole Porter reference and memories of my punky years. I got the Angelus idea half way through and those are the only parts I’m anway happy with. So yeah, scrap the first half and work on Parker/S2-3Angel parallels I can already think of several plus so much of the Parker footage is talking heads there’d be much more visually interesting stuff to work with.
