Mar. 8th, 2005 07:54 pmMan I wish term was over. Enough with the intellectual activity, tonight I just want to bibble about my favourite Buffy character.
Five faces of Buffy
1. “They can never know” Afterlife
I’ve watched BtVS from the beginning but this is the point at which I finally fell head over heels in love with Buffy Summers. “No weapons, no friends, no hope”, now she doesn’t even have “me”. But she’s still going to use every ounce of that nothing to protect her friends from their well-intended sins. And the fact that this is completely wrong-headed of her and ultimately futile. Yeah, that’s my girl.
2. “That’s because my dress is radioactive” Hell’s Bells
My Buffy is funny, but never gets enough credit for it latterly. This is a good joke people – Spike thinks so! Actually, if there’s any way these two crazy kids could make a go of things it’s that. They get each other’s jokes.
3. “the thing that monsters are afraid of” Showtime
My Buffy kicks ass. I know a lot of people were underwhelmed by the Ubervamp but I was scared. I did like that they went with wiry and ferocious rather than Biggest Demon Evah and thought Camden Toy did a great job with the body language. OK , I have Nosferatu fear.
Anyway Buffy kicks ass. I also liked the fight choreography for this one, it really rolled along across the screen and was suitably brutal. So I cried when she killed it.
4. “Don't...be afraid to lead them.” Empty Places
My Buffy knows when she done wrong. And this is the aftermath of an absolute career low. She was supposed to lead these girls to safety and all she’s offered them is crazy vengeance raids and Prom Queen bitchiness. But God does she know it. Just look at her face telling Faith what she has to do.
5. "............................. " The Girl in Question
No dialogue for this one and the part of Buffy will be played by a hairpiece. Don’t care. Just happy thinking that’s my girl dancing again. It’s been three years now, three years of going out and watching other people take to the floor. But she’s back.
