Spoiler-free Dr. Who review
Apr. 17th, 2005 10:51 pmNight of the Demon is a 1957 horror film starring the sadly underrated Dana Andrews and directed by Jacques Tourneur, which is widely acknowledged to one of the classics of the genre. Based on the M.R. James ghost story Casting the Runes it’s visually brilliant, genuinely scary, seriously addresses the conflict between rationality and faith and is wonderfully acted and written. And if you’ve ever seen it you’d know exactly why you should have gone to put the kettle on 5 minutes before the end of this week’s episode of Dr. Who.
