Children and teeth
Mar. 21st, 2005 02:17 pmMy younger son was asking us for a particular Pingu video this weekend. I say asking, lying on the floor crooning “want Pingu Forever” for one and a half hours straight would be more like it. It’s actually cause for celebration when an autistic kid asks for things, it means they realise that you’re a person not just a construct in their waking dream. Similarly, the first time he tells you a deliberate lie.
And at least it wasn’t Barney. And worth it to see the unrestrained happy when we managed to find him a copy. Bouncing around on the beds like Tigger on crack, hooting with laughter. Silly boy.
In other news I think I may have cracked a filling, which will mean a long overdue trip to the dentist. Bugger. As a teenager I used to wonder if I might be an alien because I never needed anything done to my teeth. Yay humanity.
