Simone's death was just bad for exactly the reasons you give although if she was about to give Issac some information as in your story it would feel a little better, there would be some dramtic irony to it. She was a difficult fit for the series, I remember liking her a lot in the early episodes but since Issac came back only in scenes with other people, she had some good moments with Hiro as well as Nathan. There was one line in your fic I particularly liked "First she found herself watching Nathan Petrelli destroy one of Isaac’s paintings in a grim, systematic way that left Simone, whose passion for art always felt to her more trustworthy than her relationships with artists, genuinely scared." Her having a passion for the art makes a lot of sense. And it would have been good to have seen more of her with her father.
