This is my favourite VVC vid, of all the VVC vids the one most to take home, to hug and to squeeze and to name it Georgina. First off, the genius of using a Patti Smith song for Sarah Connor, particularly Lena Heady’s Sarah. Because she even looks like Smith and because the character has an inner Patti to her that I never saw till now.

There’s a context-free reading of the vid, one of repression and desire and Thelma and Louise style riding off into the pink tinted sunset. It slips down smooth as oysters and is sexier than hell but I like the show-based one even better. It begins with Sarah Connor, a woman who reinvented herself as a weapon because circumstances dictated but it was still her decision (her sins are her own). She hates the necessity but she’s damn good at it. She hates the terminators but they’re damn good at it, what they do, that one perfect thing. In this vid when Sarah meets Cameron she’s a weapon but then so is Sarah and everything that follows is the happiness of a warm gun but less phallic. A warm bomb, a warm landmine, a warm killer robot girl with extensions to die for.

There were so many vids that I don’t know the source for but this was the one that I now most feel I do. In the first half the cards and the gloves feel as if they hold the key to web of secrets as the characters, Maud, Susan and the Gentleman, dance around each other. But then it stops being a game, those pretty symbols lie crumpled and crushed and the world is become a cold and deadly place.

Special Death
The main character feels as if cast out of Maud’s world, desperately attempting to recreate it and failing but then finding comfort where she hadn’t expected. Fabulous mirroring of the women aspirationally climbing the stairs at the beginning (beautifully cut) and Joanie coming down the steps at the end.

Get Low
I have no idea what the movies or the game are about beyond OMG ZOMBIES! but sometimes the only thing hotter than a dead chick kicking ass in a red cocktail dress is the possibility of cloning her.
